About the Role:The Litigation Services Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s Litigation Services team and will be responsible for supporting the major functions of the Litigation Services Department, which includes basic drafting, filing of case documents with various courts and forums, case monitoring, calendaring case deadlines, and additional court services, while retrieving pleadings and docket sheets using a variety of search tools from either print collections or electronic databases. This role will be located in our Orange County office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:Other key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the staff, attorneys, supervisors, and managers of the Litigation Services Department with drafting of basic litigation documents, hard copy and electronic filing of documents with State and Federal Courts and arbitration forums, and coordinating efficient and accurate service
- Assisting with service of process and subpoenas
- Assisting with applications for attorneys’ admission to practice in federal courts
- Conducting research using CourthouseNews Case Portal, PACER, Lexis, Westlaw, CourtAlert, and other electronic resources
- Assisting with expense reports, invoice processing, meeting scheduling, and preparing litigation work reports
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

And have:
- A Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant law firm or court experience
