Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that directship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timelymanner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stockfrom vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, deliveringsupplies, clean linen operations, managing supply carts, equipment distribution, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment.

Responsibilities:

(50%)*Support the work of material handlers, order fulfillment andreceiving personnel with stocking, organizing receipts, and cyclecounts as required and directed by the manager. Expired inventorymanagement, standard storage supply tasks (labels, bin organization, returns, etc.), communication for PAR levels, out ofstocks, recalls, Nursing feedback from Customer Service tasks whileworking on units, customer service for clinical needs, process improvements when Leadership directs for next level operationalexcellence achievements.

 

 

(30%)* Complete supply requisition by removing from inventory those itemsrequested, packaging the order, staging for delivery.

 

 

(20%)* Maintain a neat, clean and orderly storeroom, receiving area, andoutside dock area. Ensures proper rotation of stock.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain equipment as required, such as charging the electricpallet jack. Distribute/deliver stock and non-stock orders throughout theMedical Center, and MOB’s including driving MyMichigan vehicle andbeing able to be insured through MyMichigan. Checks in/ receives stock and items within the Materials Information System, replaces Supply Clerk II occasionally inrelief.

 

In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate forthis position to have access to the medication room and supply roomfor the purpose of stocking. Other duties as assigned. MyMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employeesneed to demonstrate competency in Microsoft® Windows. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS: Ability to lift/handle heavy objects, to stay on feet for longperiods of time and to handle physical labor for long periods oftime required. Good customer service skills. Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)training must also be completed annually according to the ExposureControl Plan.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving publiccontact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latexmaterials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisteddevice and must be able to perform the functions of the job asoutlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisteddevice(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. Mayrequire frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling orcrouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentiallyinfectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, workindependently, regular and predictable attendance and ability tostay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching,grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of thesemovements on a regular to frequent basis. Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% orthe workday) 10 lbs.
