This role is crucial to ensuring the security and compliance of our software development processes.  If you have a demonstrated and advanced background in network engineering and have the following certifications: Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) v3 or later, Cloud Network Certifications relevant to hybrid environments such as (Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent), and an active Secret clearance, we encourage you to apply.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, telecommunications, or related technical field. Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field highly preferred.
  • 10 years’ IT experience with at least 7 years’ experience with enterprise network design, implementation, and management. 
  • 5 years’ experience managing complex WAN/LAN environments supporting 1,000+ users across multiple geographic locations. 
  • 3 years’ experience with VPN services to include provisioning, monitoring, and the management of site-to-site VPN connectivity and remote user access solutions. 
  • 3 years’ experience with hybrid network environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud network services, and experience with network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and threshold management for enterprise-scale networks.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with high level executive and federal government management.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
  • IAT Level II — Approved Certifications (DoD 8570.01-M) To comply with IAT Level II requirements, individuals must hold one of the following baseline certifications:
    1. CCNA Security
    2. CySA+ (CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst)
    3. GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional)
    4. GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification)
    5. Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+ Continuing Education)
    6. CND (Certified Network Defender)
    7. SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
  • Must have an active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Juniper Networks Certified Expert (JUNCIE) certification and Routing and Switching certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret Security Clearance, a TS with SCI Eligibility clearance is preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) v3 or later.
  • Cloud Network Certifications relevant to hybrid environments such as (Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent).

Job Duties:

  • Design, implement, and maintain DoD OIG’s network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN (wired, wireless, optical), virtual, cloud-based, and VPN environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues across all platforms, ensuring high availability and compliance with security and service level requirements.
  • Support and maintain all data network components and circuits in accordance with vendor agreements and DoD OIG security policies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and public carriers to provision services, resolve issues, and optimize connectivity.
  • Provide secure remote access and remote administration capabilities for authorized personnel.
  • Develop technical documentation, network designs, engineering plans, and integration/testing procedures.
  • Advise on network improvements based on business needs and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and participate in incident response as needed.
