As an intern on the embedded software test team, you will work on products that are delivered to world-class customers and ensure that they have been thoroughly tested and deliveries are rock-solid!
As an intern, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to solve real-world challenges, contribute to product development, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This internship will take place during the Summer 2026 semester over the course of a 12-14 week long internship working a full-time schedule.
Responsibilities
Create and execute on test plans during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the product
Contribute to the design, creation, and enhancement of the test framework, including developing modules to enable more effective validation techniques
Find issues and triage/debug them with team members in the software organization
Identify, report, and handle defects in a defect tracking system
Present results to product owners, internal customers to assist in resolving defects
Analyze test result data to identify patterns, extract insights, and support meaningful conclusions that improve product quality
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
Knowledge of embedded systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as (Python/shell, C, C++, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Understanding of MCU and DSP cores/processors
Understanding of software testing and test automation principles
Familiar with defect management practices
Familiar with SDLC
Familiar with Jira, svn/git, and Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins)
Cirrus Logic follows a 2+ day in-office work schedule but interns should expect to be in the office more often, up to 5 days per week, based on business needs and team preference. Interns must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning their internship with Cirrus Logic.
