QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience as Athletic Trainer at the high school level or above preferred.
Knowledge of basic principles of anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, nutrition, diet and first aid.
Knowledge of symptoms and treatment of athletic injuries, physical fitness, hygiene, and safety procedures related to athletic programs.
Knowledge of safety and protective equipment used in sports, disinfectant techniques, taping, bandaging, and therapeutic techniques.
Knowledge of record keeping techniques, general principles of training and providing work direction.
Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures.
Knowledge of CIF bluebook Constitution and bylaws and ability to adhere and comply with CIF and state rules and regulations.
Ability to administer standard and advanced first aid and therapeutic techniques.
Ability to operate a variety of therapeutic equipment and machines.
Ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff and medical personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Must be a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Possession of a valid California's driver's license.
Possession of a valid CPR and first aid certification authorized through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Possession of a valid Concussion Awareness Certificate from NFHS Learning Center.
Possession of a valid Heat Illness Prevention Certificate from NFHS Learning Center.
Possession of a national certification as a certified athletic trainer through the national athletic trainer’s association (NATA) or board certification for (B.O.C.)
Possess and will provide a current Mantoux, PPD or TST TB test results or an Adult Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment questionnaire completed by a medical professional
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acting as a liaison between the school and the community to promote positive image for the program.
To understand and carry out technical and other directions issued by physicians, communicate effectively orally and in writing.
To work independently, maintain accurate records, establish general schedules and priorities; understand and carry out oral and written instructions, establish effective relationships with those contracted in the course of work.
To report to School Administration or Principal Designee (i.e., Athletic Director).
Details:
$50/hour to start with the possibility of teaching classes at SCHS through our District’s CCA program with the potential for health benefits in the future. Also, this is a great opportunity to make additional income if you already have a full time position and have your afternoons and evenings off.
