Under the direction of the principal, organize, coordinate and administer assigned programs and activities related to student discipline, attendance and instruction. Perform a variety of administrative duties to assist the principal in managing the school; in the absence of the principal serve as the Administrator in charge of the school.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Assist the principal with administrative duties involving student conduct, curriculum and instruction, safety, school plant operations as assigned.? Supervise and evaluate the performance of designated certificated and/or classified personnel as appropriate; assign duties to staff to meet school objectives; assist with recruiting, interviewing and selecting new staff.
? Compile, analyze and interpret test data to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and testing processes; direct and participate in the collection, compilation and recording of required data.
? Provide direction to a variety of faculty, staff and student programs and services; participate in informal and formal classroom visitations and observations; provide recommendations and suggestions as appropriate.
? Assist in the supervision and organization of student activities; help schedule extra-curricular programs and monitor budgets; attend a variety of school events including athletic events, dances, meetings and others.
? Develop and administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with District policies and State laws; receive referrals and confer with students, parents, teachers and community agencies; respond to and resolve parent, student and staff complaints; serve on discipline or expulsion panels.

Direct the preparation and maintenance of a variety of District, County, State and federally-mandated records and reports regarding student attendance, discipline, attendance, test scores, cumulative records and academic achievement; operate a personal computer and typewriter to prepare and maintain correspondence, records and reports.
? Coordinate Student Success Team meetings and follow up on recommendations; assure the health, safety and welfare of students.
? Ensure that students are placed appropriately into special programs to include summer school and ensure that student progress is frequently monitored and assist in developing the master schedule.
? Establish, coordinate and maintain communication with community and parent groups; attend and conduct a variety of meetings and events; develop correspondence to promote school activities and achievements; assist with campus professional publications.
? Monitor student attendance; prepare letters and call parents as needed regarding absent or tardy students; hold parent conferences regarding attendance (Mini-SARB) and participate in the district SARB process.
? Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree and three years of classroom experience or experience in pupil personnel services. Teaching experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Knowledge of: comprehensive organization, educational activities, goals and objectives of the school, school law, applicable sections of the California Education Code and other applicable laws, California Content Standards, effective instructional practices, respective collective bargaining agreements, district and school policies, procedures and regulations; tactful interpersonal skills (patience, courtesy) oral and written communication skills, computer operation.
Ability to: Prepare and deliver oral presentations, establish and maintain communication with various groups, plan & organize work, analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action, complete work in a timely fashion with many interruptions, read and interpret rules and regulations, write free of spelling and grammatical errors, hear and speak to exchange information and make presentations, see to monitor students and read a variety of materials, move hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend at the waist, kneel or crouch.
