Part Time Cleaner - 6.75 hrs./day at Cloquet Public School District

Purpose

Part-time cleaners are under the direct supervision of the building's head custodian, but also are required to follow directives and responsibilities as requested by the district's lead custodian and the building principals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Spend multiple hours on their feet performing job responsibilities.
• Be able to lift up to 40 pounds consistently.
• Move furniture and equipment as directed and in a safe manner.
• Be punctual, reliable, and efficient.
• Participate in trainings designated by their supervisor(s).
• Prioritize work as directed by or as guidelines are given by their supervisor.
• Treat all staff, students, and school visitors with respect.
• Read, understand, and follow directions relating to the use of chemicals and products designated to be used to perform their work assignment.
• Vacuum carpeted areas of the school.
• Sweep/wash floors in classrooms, bathrooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms or other designated areas.
• Assist with other floor care such as stripping and waxing.
• Clean pupil and staff bathrooms to designated standards - toilets, sinks, mirrors, surfaces.
• Replenish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as necessary.
• Clean pupil and teacher work areas/desks as scheduled and required.
• Spot clean walls, floors, and other surfaces as needed.
• Empty garbage and recycling receptacles.
• Undertake other responsibilities as requested by their head custodian, district lead custodian, or principal.
