Lead a team of analysts responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis. Drive strategies by presenting data-driven insights to executive and non-technical audiences. Coordinate processes of modifying and transforming data into a format that is valuable, readable, and presentable. Lead and execute cross-functional projects using advanced data analysis techniques to discover insights that will drive strategic decisions and efficiencies.

Prepare information and make presentations to various audiences, including executives, senior and mid-level managers, and associates. Organize the design and delivery of reports that analyze business functions, key operations and performance metrics, and trends impacting company to determine appropriate actions.

Direct the requests process for data analysis through tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc. Identify trends and seek opportunities for continuous improvement. Perform general management duties, including recruiting, training, developing, and supervising analyst-level employees.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategies for data governance and security across both Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Facilitate the seamless integration between Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, using mechanisms like OneLake shortcuts and Delta Sharing to avoid data fragmentation. 
  • Lead data engineering, analytics, and data science teams in designing and building robust data solutions. 
  • Guide the organization in leveraging advanced AI capabilities and enhancing business intelligence with the unified tools in Fabric and Databricks. 
  • Focus on designing and building data infrastructure and systems that enable efficient data processing and analysis across the entire data journey.
  • Manages a single functional area or department based on the direction of IT senior leadership.
  • Directs team to follow and comply with pre-established IT policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ensures all documentation required is accurately captured and maintained.
  • Establishes and maintains new IT policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ensures budget goals and objectives in an assigned area are met.
  • Reviews IT requirements and makes recommendations to satisfy business needs.
  • Conducts career development, planning and performance of team.
  • Takes ownership of support issues, engaging other internal /external expertise as required.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors.
  • Experience working with or managing offshore delivery team via application managed services (AMS).

Education and Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 6-8 years relevant experience. (Previous managerial/leadership experience not required.)
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Skills:

Strong technical skills:

  • Understanding of data engineering.
  • Understanding of application architecture, infrastructure, and related technologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, build relationships with vendors and internal teams, and manage expectations.

Project management skills:

  • Ability to manage projects, track progress, and ensure that deadlines are met.

Problem-solving and analytical skills:

  • Ability to identify and resolve issues, analyze data, and make informed decisions.

Leadership and teamwork skills:

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams and work effectively with others.

Microsoft Fabric:

  • Manage and support a SaaS analytics platform with OneLake, providing a comprehensive suite of tools for data engineering, data warehousing, and business intelligence to support key reporting needs of the organization

Azure Databricks:

  • Deep understanding of data migration, advanced analytics, and machine learning, built on Fabric architecture.

OneLake:

  • Support of a raw data ingestion strategy harmonizing data from multiple disparaged sources into a refined data

Power BI:

  • Experience delivering producer and light consumer reporting models using Microsoft PowerBI tools

Azure Dev/Ops:

  • Azure Boards: For planning and tracking work, including D365 development tasks, customizations, and deployments.
  • Azure Repos: For version control of D365 customizations, solutions, and code.
  • Azure Pipelines: For automating the build, test, and deployment processes of D365 solutions. This can include integrating with Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) for deploying changes to D365 environments.
  • Azure Test Plans: For defining and executing tests for D365 solutions.
  • Azure Artifacts: For managing and distributing packages related to D365 solutions.

Environment Planning and Strategy:

  • Defining the number and types of environments needed (e.g., development, test, production) based on business requirements and project needs.
  • Environment Lifecycle Management (ALM) - Manage the creation, modification, and deletion of environments, including tasks like copying, backing up, and restoring environments.
  • Deployment and Updates - Oversee the deployment of new environments and the application of updates and patches to ensure system stability and security.
  • Data Management - Plan and implement data management strategies to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
  • Security and Compliance - Implement security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Performance Optimization - Monitor environment performance and implement measures to optimize resource utilization and improve user experience.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Collaborate with other team members, stakeholders, and customers to ensure that environments are effectively managed and meets their needs.
