Our software engineers play a critical role in enabling precision testing through robust, scalable, and intelligent control systems.

Software Engineer – Aerospace Test Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for automated aerospace test equipment. This role involves working closely with instrumentation hardware, control systems, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions for testing fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical aircraft components.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop applications using LabVIEW; certification (CLAD, CLD, CLA) preferred
  • Integrate and manage instrumentation drivers for data acquisition devices
  • Work with instrumentation protocols including GPIB, Serial, Modbus, TCP/IP, USB
  • Develop Windows-based applications using WinAPI, external libraries, and networking fundamentals
  • Utilize C++, LabWindows CVI, and NI TestStand for test automation
  • Interface with databases such as MS SQL Server for data management
  • Collaborate with electrical and hydraulic engineers to interpret schematics and system layouts
  • Implement sensor calibration and signal conditioning techniques
  • Follow standard software development life cycles and configuration management practices
  • Create test procedures based on Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs)
  • Support assembly and troubleshooting during build phases
  • Lead customer design reviews and provide test stand operation expertise
  •  Assist in technical manual development
  • Participate in equipment startup and checkout at factory and customer sites
  • Travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in custom equipment or systems design
  • Experience in mid-sized companies (150–300 employees)
  • Experience with instrumentation hardware (DAQ systems, transducers, signal conditioning modules)
  • Familiarity with control systems and automated test equipment
  • Strong understanding of electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Hands-on experience with sensor calibration and signal processing
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and PLC programming
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and version control
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. green card holder required
