OVERNIGHT SHIFT - Assistant Shift Manager at Alan Ritchey, Inc

Alan Ritchey, Inc is seeking a motivated, team player for an Assistant Shift/Tour Manager position.  

TOUR 1, Overnight - 10pm-6am - Weekends Required

This person will report to the Tour Manager, as well as coordinate, supervise, provide leadership, motivation, training and development of our work force. The right person will cultivate a positive work environment while ensuring company policies are followed. The candidate needs to demonstrate time management, communication, planning, team building and administrative skills.

Our facility in Aurora is a large warehouse processing mail and packages in a high-volume, 24/7, production environment.

We have three tours covering the full 24hour cycle. The manager will be supervising a tour of 100-150 employees on a daily basis, including forklift drivers, shipper/packers, and clerks. Successfully supervising a shift requires a high degree of coordination and accuracy to ensure that all the items are received, sorted, and loaded successfully and that certain tasks are prioritized and completed.

Responsibilities

• Execute tasks as assigned by the Tour Manager
• Coordinate and supervise the workforce
• Ensure compliance with USPS Policies and coordinate with USPS staff regarding concerns
• Meet shift goals and metrics regarding intake, processing, and dispatch of packages and mail
• Provide leadership and motivation to team members
• Train and develop employees
• Coordinate with Tour Manager, Plant Manager and HR on coaching and corrective actions
• Cultivate a positive work environment
• Ensure company policies are followed
• Respond to and report on emergencies, problems, and complaints

Requirements

Requirements

• 1+ years of Warehouse Management Experience
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, squat for a standard 8 hour shift
• Weekend and holiday availability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Some experience in Excel
• Detailed Oriented
• Understanding of transportation flow
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Critical Thinking Skills
