Primary Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Assist various orthopedic physicians under the direction of Clinical Coordinator
- Provide coverage for clinical teams as needed
- Perform general nursing duties
- Perform suture/staple removal
- Perform wound care/dressing changes
- Drawing up meds; calling in medications
- Application of sterile fields
- Application and removal of casts and splints
- Locate any necessary imaging, test results or reports for upcoming appointments
- Schedule and precert MRI’S, lab work, procedures, and surgeries
- Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc.
- Prepare for clinic by printing out patient information as requested by physician
- Assist with verifying pre-op labs and scheduling surgery clearances as needed
- Assist other team members as needed
- Fill out disability, return-to-work, and insurance forms
- Obtain physician signature on miscellaneous forms
- Travel locally to satellite offices as schedule requires
- Friendly and Professional patient communication when answering and returning patient phone calls, providing various forms of patient education and handouts, escorting patients to and from exam rooms, appointment/surgery reminder calls, responding to and chart patient messages and communicating test results to patients with direction from physician
Must also possess:
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
- Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
- Independent, self-starting and highly motivated
- Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
- Proven positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history
- Minimum one year full time clinical experience in healthcare preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
- Constant standing and walking
- Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
- Consistently work at a productive pace
- Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
