Are you passionate about supporting families and empowering communities?
Become a vital part of our Early Head Start team as an Early Head Start (EHS) Family & Community Engagement Coordinator. In this full-time role, you will champion family success by enrolling children, building strong partnerships, and connecting families to essential community resources.
Key Responsibilities
· Recruit and enroll eligible children and families into the Early Head Start program.
· Maintain full enrollment and manage a waiting list.
· Complete family applications and conduct thorough eligibility assessments.
· Build Family Partnership Agreements that support families in setting and achieving personal goals.
· Facilitate regular home visits, parent meetings, and engagement activities.
· Assist families in accessing educational, health, and social services.
· Support parent participation in all aspects of program governance.
· Create and maintain strong community partnerships and a comprehensive community resource guide.
· Plan and lead skill-building workshops and advocacy groups for families.
· Collaborate with staff and families to promote family strengths and community collaboration.
· Maintain accurate child and family records in compliance with program standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
· Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
· Preferred: Family Development Credential (FDC) and/or relevant Associate’s degree.
· Minimum of 3 years' experience working with families and community engagement.
· Strong communication, organization, and outreach skills.
· Knowledge of child and family development and family-centered practices.
· Culturally responsive and sensitive to diverse family backgrounds.
· Proficient in basic computer skills (email, word processing, internet).
· Able to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds, up to 20 times a day, if needed.
· Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
