Job Purpose
The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining production equipment, supporting manufacturing processes, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality marine coatings by performing pour-off, tank wash, and Vortisiv filtration responsibilities.
Long Description
As an Operator, you will work in a hands-on, team-oriented environment that values safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will be trained across multiple processes, including product pour-off, tank washing, and specialized Vortisiv filtration. This position requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly. No prior warehouse or industry experience is required—forklift certification and process training are provided. Key Responsibilities
Basic Responsibilities
Operate and maintain production assets safely and efficiently.
Perform daily production tasks, preventive maintenance, and process data collection.
Report safety, quality, or production concerns and ensure production targets are met.
Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow all site HSE, Product Safety, and Regulatory policies.
Tank Wash & Pour Off
Clean tanks, valves, filters, pumps, and related equipment using appropriate tools and cleaning chemicals.
Transfer products into containers of varying sizes while following fill-off and safety procedures.
Inspect and label containers, complete batch tickets, and stage products for shipping.
Perform housekeeping duties and ensure proper storage/disposal of materials.
Vortisiv Filtration
Set up, operate, and break down Vortisiv equipment (including screen selection).
Maintain specified flow rates and follow Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTO) procedures.
Safely lift and handle metal objects as part of the filtration process.
Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–70 pounds regularly.
- Ability to lift metal objects up to 40 pounds, up to 5 feet off the floor.
- Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per day.
- Work schedule: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday–Friday (with voluntary weekday overtime available).
- Forklift certification provided (no prior certification required).
- No prior warehouse or industry experience required.
Compensation
The starting hourly rate for these skills is $18.50. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. This hourly rate may also be modified in the future.
