Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the electronics technician will lead product assembly and testing efforts with the goal of delivering quality products. They will work closely with engineering to troubleshoot electrical related failures and perform and document root cause analysis of failures. Following industry standards, they will perform rework of failing electrical systems and verify rework through product testing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead production assembly efforts and ensure proper testing and calibration of products.
- Troubleshoot test failures as it relates to PCBA’s and electrical systems.
- Perform board level rework in accordance with industry standards and verify successful rework through testing.
- Support engineering in troubleshooting efforts and perform rework as necessary.
- Follow assembly and test procedures and provide feedback on changes when applicable.
- Keep and maintain accurate test records for product calibration.
- Perform and document root-cause analysis on failing components.
- Assist engineering in deploying and implementing new assembly and testing tools.
Requirements
Education/Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of professional work experience
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of electronics assembly/testing experience
- 2+ years of PCBA troubleshooting experience
- 2+ years of PCBA rework experience
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21D, and J-STD-0001 standards
- Experience with electronics test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers)
- Ability to perform board level rework of surface mount and through hole components
- Communicate effectively to address failures and maintain test documentation
- Read and follow detailed work instructions and test procedures
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
