PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to provide support and management of the English Learners (EL) intake process for EL students, including paperwork, testing, and parent consultations. The secretary also supports data management for EL Intake, as well as assistance with compliance and regulation duties for the EL program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include all department activities related to the EL intake and testing processes. Essential Duties
Conduct intake testing, consultations, paperwork and scheduling including education resources and transportation;
Communicate with schools on new EL students;
Support maintenance of EL student files through district and state department electronic data management systems and physical files within the department;
Assist with Kindergarten testing and registration;
Conduct Pre-IPT testing for preschool students;
Provide back-up for the annual state language assessment;
Ensure intake materials are up-to-date;
Coordinate with other districts on intake;
Answer and direct phone calls;
Projects and duties as assigned by the Federal Programs Administrator(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong computer software skills, including word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other types of programs for data and presentation management;
Ability to work well with families and individuals from different cultures;
Accuracy and thoroughness;
Strong organizational and systematic work skills;
Strong communication skills;
The ability to work both reliably independently or as a part of a team;
Must have a valid Idaho Driver’s license and a vehicle to drive and/or must provide own transportation for job related activities.

Job tasks require, with or without reasonable accommodation, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT To be determined by calendar year. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
