Department Overview: 


Our Fulfillment Department is the heart of our operations, ensuring that our products reach our customers efficiently and accurately. This fast-paced and critical department encompasses a wide range of functions, from managing inventory and overseeing warehouse operations to coordinating delivery logistics and optimizing our supply chain. 


Opportunity: 

Drexel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our Fulfillment Department for a hands-on apprenticeship experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insights into the end-to-end fulfillment process and develop practical skills in various operational areas. The student will work closely with experienced team members and contribute to real-world projects. 


Responsibilities may include: 

Operations Support:  Assisting with daily operational tasks within the warehouse, such as receiving product from vendors and loading vehicles for delivery. Sweep, shovel, clean and maintain yard, facility, and storage areas. Complete miscellaneous yard tasks as assigned

Warehousing:  Learning about warehouse layout, organization, and best practices for efficient storage and retrieval of goods. General cleaning and maintenance of location. 

Inventory Management:  Participating in inventory counts, audits, and data entry to ensure accurate stock levels. 

Delivery Logistics:  Gaining exposure to the processes involved in coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier communication and documentation. 

Data Analysis:  Assisting with the collection and analysis of fulfillment data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 

Process Improvement:  Contributing ideas and supporting initiatives aimed at optimizing fulfillment processes and increasing efficiency. 

Documentation:  Assisting with the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Interacting with other departments to ensure seamless order fulfillment. 

Special Projects:  Undertaking specific projects as assigned by the Fulfillment team, which may involve research, analysis, or implementation tasks. 


Learning Objectives: 

Through this Youth Apprenticeship, the student will gain: 

A comprehensive understanding of the entire fulfillment lifecycle, from order placement to delivery. 

Practical experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics coordination. 

Exposure to data analysis techniques used to drive operational improvements and efficiency. 

An understanding of the importance of process optimization and efficiency in a fulfillment environment. 

The opportunity to develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional setting. 


Qualifications: 

Currently enrolled in High School as Junior or Senior.

Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. 

Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team. 

Proficiency in basic computer applications 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

*You must have a positive enthusiastic winning attitude! You must also be comfortable lifting building materials averaging up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Must also be able to communicate effectively one-on-one and with large groups, and handle situations daily that might arise with unhappy customers while keeping a smile on your face.
