How you’ll contribute
The HIM Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and administering health information services consistent with accreditation/regulatory standards as well as facility/company standards and policies. Directs the operations of the department and implements P&Ps for documenting, storing and retrieving information, processing medical legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests. Manager supervises and maintains patient medical records and monitors staff documentation requirements. The manager assists with centralized coding efforts and acts as facility HIPAA officer.
An HIM Manager who excels in this role:
- Works collaboratively with physicians and hospital staff to assure completion of records that meet all regulatory and facility requirements.
- Reviews and responds to the daily fatal error
- Answer inquiries from internal and external contacts regarding information recorded in patient’s medical records, within all departmental policies and guidelines.
- Responds appropriately to any potential HIM issues.
- Reports/records HIPAA incidents in a timely manner & investigates to determine if breach of confidentiality occurred.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should possess:
Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in health information management required, prior supervisory experience preferred.
License: Prefer Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Valid driver’s license preferred.
