About the job:
Kawa is looking to expand the investments team by adding an Investment Analyst to focus primarily on structured finance, ABF, and ABS investments. In this role, the individual will work under the direction of senior members of the Investments Team to help diligence and execute various transactions and will also be required to work closely with members of the Legal, Operations and Investor Relations teams. Ideal candidates will be analytical, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, and work effectively with all internal groups. The position will be based onsite in Hallandale Beach, FL.
Responsibilities will include:
• Analyze and execute structured credit opportunities in real estate and alternative asset classes. Typical transactions include ABF/ABS investments, credit tenant lease-backed notes (CTLs), and warehouse lines.
• Construct asset-based cashflow models in Excel and/or Intex to evaluate prospective investments.
• Underwrite portfolios of loans and single assets in both real estate and other sectors.
• Perform in-depth market and sponsor research and due diligence.
• Draft investment memos and presentations as necessary.
• Track the performance of existing investments.
• Review reports from existing borrowers and assist with investor reporting.
• Assist in the execution of capital markets transactions (such as warehouse financing and securitization) to efficiently leverage Kawa’s investments.
• Prepare marketing materials for broker-dealers/traders to sell Kawa’s liquid and illiquid investments.
• Assist in fundraising efforts with Kawa’s LPs in coordination with the Investor Relations Team.
Skills and Experience:

• The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards.
• Exceptional modelling capabilities in Excel and/or Intex.
• Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Prior commercial real estate, ABF, ABS, CMBS, or structured lending experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using Bloomberg or Intex is a plus, but not required.
• Strong critical thinking and verbal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, math, etc.).
• Superior academic record and job performance.
• Exposure to structured credit transactions (such as ABS, ABF, CMBS, or private placements).
• Targeting one to three years of relevant work experience.
