About the Role:
The Engineering Services Technician III plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing engineering operations at Metcut Cincinnati - Carillon. This position is responsible for executing complex technical tasks that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and quality of engineering services and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating specialized machinery and instrumentation to meet stringent operational standards. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement process improvements and support project execution. Ultimately, this position contributes to the seamless delivery of engineering solutions that drive business success and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering technician role, preferably within a manufacturing or testing laboratory environment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Materials testing laboratory experience.
- Hydraulic and/or electronic background is a plus.
- Thermal testing and/or NDT background is also a plus.
- Previous experience working in a cross-functional team environment supporting engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of engineering equipment and systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Calibrate and test instruments and machinery to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement process improvements and technical solutions.
- Document all maintenance activities, technical procedures, and equipment status reports accurately and timely.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment, including conducting functional tests and providing technical training to operators.
Skills:
The required skills enable the technician to effectively diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics is essential for accurate maintenance and calibration tasks. Strong communication and documentation skills facilitate clear reporting and collaboration with engineering and production teams. Preferred skills such as familiarity with CMMS and Lean principles support continuous improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
