POSITION OBJECTIVES: Manage all sales activities related to the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. assigned territory. Establish and manage different channels to market, including distributors, dealers, private label, national account, municipal, and direct to end user sales.
· Oversee, direct, coordinate and manage all activities in accordance with the objectives established for the defined territory.
· Responsible for achieving established sales goals by supporting the efforts of the existing distribution, establishing new distribution, and working with all other TPM customers in the territory including, but not limited to, contractors, dealers, national accounts, local municipalities, government agencies, engineering firms, oil & gas markets, industrial plants, private label accounts, and OEMs.
· Establish new distribution in defined territory or expand existing distribution.
· Work closely with Municipal Sales Manager to grow sales to municipalities in the defined territory.
· Responsible for working with all customers including, but not limited to, sales calls, training, visiting jobsites, preparing quotations and demonstrating pumps and/or equipment.
· Responsible for following and enforcing all TPM policies and procedures.
· Submit goals, plans, reports and analyses using Sales Force CRM.
· Evaluate territory and assist in establishing annual goals and objectives. Help develop and execute strategies to obtain those targets.
· Participate in trade shows, customer training schools, and other company events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum two years progressive supervisory/managerial experience required.
· Previous experience with pumps, wellpointing and dewatering equipment preferred.
· Utility construction experience preferred.
· Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
· Strong business math skills.
· Must be computer literate.
· Must have a working knowledge of pumps, basic hydraulics and operating principles.
· Must be able to read, understand and convey to others the information contained technical manuals.
· Must have and maintain a class-C/operator’s (or better) driver’s license
