We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist – Adult I/DD to provide evidence-based therapy to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who are receiving Network180 services. The Outpatient Therapist will provide support to psychiatric services clinic through clinical evaluations, referral services, coordination of care, discharge planning, chart prep and insurance authorization. All activities will take place either face-to-face, video meeting, or by phone.
This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller AVE NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology, Counseling or Counseling Psychology
- Certification or Licensure in state of Michigan as licensed Master Social Worker, Professional Counselor or Psychologist
- Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) or eligible based one year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Demonstrated successful experience in using DSM V diagnostic skills
- Demonstrated successful experience showing an understanding of the interaction between intellectual and cognitive disabilities and behavioral health conditions
- Experience in intake, case management, service coordination, clinical service provision direct support and/or advocacy roles
- Experience in evidence-based practices of care, including self-determination, motivational interviewing, Gentle Teaching, Trauma Informed Care, CBT and/or DBT
- Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment
- Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills
- Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
- Full Licensure in the State of Michigan as a licensed bachelor’s social worker
Working knowledge of the Medicaid Autism Benefit
