Join AMHC’s Community Integration Program as a full-time Transportation Specialist and help provide vital transportation services to individuals in need across Aroostook County.
What You’ll Do:
As the Transportation Specialist, you will oversee the daily operations of AMHC’s Transportation Service, ensuring mental health clients have access to reliable and timely transportation throughout Aroostook County. You will recruit and manage volunteer drivers, coordinate transportation schedules, ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards, and play a key role in maintaining accurate records and data for service monitoring and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer drivers and interns.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and transportation safety standards.
- Monitor driver certifications, licenses, and insurance coverage.
Service Coordination
- Verify and track client eligibility for transportation services.
- Maintain a transportation database with accurate demographic and trip data.
- Schedule and coordinate daily transportation with volunteer drivers.
- Manage resources such as gas cards, ARTS coupons, and coordinate with taxi/bus services when needed.
- Serve as a community resource and advocate for transportation services.
Administrative & Financial
- Prepare and submit bi-monthly driver invoices.
- Monitor transportation budget and ensure services align with contract requirements.
- Assist with purchasing, billing, and reporting in collaboration with other departments.
- Help identify and pursue additional funding opportunities.
Reporting & Quality Improvement
- Provide data for quarterly performance reports.
- Collaborate on strategies for continuous service improvement.
- Contribute to the development and review of transportation policies and procedures.
