We’re currently looking for an Adult Care Companion in Jacksonville, FL (32210)
A wonderful family in West Jacksonville (near the Walmart on 103rd Street) is seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to provide ongoing care and companionship for an elderly mother (age 83) with limited mobility. Care involves assistance with transitions, restroom support, light meals/drinks, and companionship.
Start: ASAP
Length of position: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday–Friday, as needed
- Occasional Saturdays
- Hours may range between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Typical visits last about 6 hours, 1 to 2 times per month
- Minimum of 10–24 hours’ notice will be provided for care needs
Rate: Starting at $18/hour
1 adult: 83-year-old woman
Responsibilities
- Assist with transfers (wheelchair to toilet, wheelchair to chair, etc.)
- Assist with preparing light meals and drinks
- Accompany client outdoors (front yard, light gardening, fresh air)
- Provide companionship and pleasant conversation
- Provide communication with family after care is given
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2+ years of care-related work experience
- Must be able to pass a background check and social media screening
- CPR certification (or willing to become certified)
- Provide two care-related references
- Physically able to assist with mobility and safe transfers
- Pleasant, patient, and communicative personality
Compensation
This position pays $18 per hour. Hours vary based on need: approximately 6 hours per shift, on a backup/as-needed basis (1–2 times per month).
