General HVAC Engineer - Level II at Northwood Investors

• JOB TITLE: GENERAL HVAC ENGINEER – LEVEL 2 (NWO)

DIVISION: OPERATIONS / ENERGY SERVICES

REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER

POSITION BRIEF:

Responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance work on in-house equipment and buildings.  Assist in directing activities of HVAC contractors engaged in repair, maintenance and installation activities for properties assigned to them.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Works closely with Chief Engineer to coordinate activities of support personnel.
• Must have a good working knowledge of Cooling Towers, Pumps, AHU’s, RTU’s, VAV’s, PIU’s, Split Systems and other HVAC equipment.
• Help improve existing procedures by examples and recommendations.
• Assist other operations personnel as needed.
• Facilitate compliance with job specifications, company policy and procedures.
• Set personal goals and document 20 hours of relatable training annually.
• Help implement preventive maintenance programs on mechanical equipment and building maintenance.
• Review work orders to determine work priorities as needed.
• Help with chemical application on cooling towers.
• Assist in executing work activities in a cost-effective manner.
• Provide leadership and direction by example to fellow employees.
• Must have good working knowledge of building automation systems. Tridium and Trane Synchrony experience preferred.

 QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Five Years HVAC experience in commercial systems preferred.
• Microsoft applications experience preferred.
• Good listening and communication skills are essential to this position.
• CFC certification preferred.
•   Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, as needed, as well as variable shifts and emergency on-call rotation.
• Ability to lift 50 lb., work on ladders, man lifts, in and above ceiling space, and small spaces or roof access spaces.
