The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating technical documentation utilizing approved templates and work instructions. The Technical Writer uses creative skills and experience to plan, organize, and lead projects assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Team. The Technical Writer will work in a team environment with other writers, engineers, and a variety of fabrication, powder coat and production team members and leaders. The writer maintains a strong ability to collaborate with Engineering and Quality Management teams within iFIT and may include other departments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit technical documentation in accordance with plant and company work instructions for development of technical documents.
- Create and maintain ISO 9001 processes, procedures and work instructions.
- Work with engineering groups on product and documentation requirements.
- Research, develop and document technical design specifications.
- Prioritize assigned tasks to meet completion deadlines.
- Create images, drawings, diagrams, and charts that increase user understanding.
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
- Ensure documents are accurate including part numbers, quantities in each Bill of Materials and all work content, able to present information and facts in a logical manner, using appropriate phrasing and vocabulary.
- Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Participates in and sustains 5S, lean principles and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Miscellaneous duties as required.
