About the Job
Join our team as a Data Scientist, where you'll drive data-driven insights that fuel business growth. Leveraging advanced quantitative methods, statistical modeling and machine learning expertise, you'll optimize customer segmentation, trend analysis and ROI. As a technical leader, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations.
A Day in the Life
- Deliver actionable business and marketing insights to stakeholders through analysis, research and modeling
- Develop, maintain and enhance statistical models using R/Python and machine learning techniques
- Extract/analyze trends from databases/data warehouses using statistical/ML techniques
- Prepare/deliver technical presentations to stakeholders and leadership teams
- Conduct multi-channel analyses for online/offline contexts using browsing/purchase data
- Lead complex data science projects from conception to deployment all with the end goal of enabling the core products to deliver insights that matter most to stakeholders
- Collaborate with business facing team members to understand their needs and develop models in accordance with business logic while keeping in mind scalability
- Create new ways to generate primary data by focusing on data science methods for product development
- Conduct product user analytics and analyses of product user behavior
What you bring
- Bachelor's/Master's in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or natural sciences
- 5-8 years of experience in open-source programming, applied statistics, machine learning and relational database management
- 2-4 years of experience mentoring or leading junior data science professionals
- 2+ years in healthcare industry preferred
- Advanced expertise in R/Python, SQL, data visualization and collaboration with data engineering teams
- Strong communication/presentation skills with management, clients and business partners
- Knowledge of advertising or consulting, targeting and pharmaceuticals
- Technical leadership: project management, methodology validation, code review and innovation implementation
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks and adapt to changing technical requirements
- Commitment to ethical considerations, compliance, code/results documentation and continuous learning
- Experience with model deployment and translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with Agents and Agentic Frameworks for analyses and technical purposes
- Willingness to learn, test, fail fast and ideate
Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000
The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
