MDU Resources Group, Inc. We’re looking for a second-year law student from an ABA accredited law school for our 2026 summer internship program. The successful intern candidate will work a twelve-week period from mid-May through August 2026.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled in an ABA accredited Juris Doctor (JD) program or equivalent legal studies program.
Must be able to work onsite at the Bismarck, ND corporate office.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Excellent human relations and communication skills interacting with peers, senior management, and external parties.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, both on an individual level and team commitments.
A business and solution-oriented approach to interacting and working with internal clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled 2L in an ABA accredited Juris Doctor (JD) program or equivalent legal studies program.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Previous legal experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This internship provides the opportunity to assist in the Legal Department. Tasks include:
Assisting attorneys with creation of reports and presentations;
Participating in meetings and taking notes or minutes as requested;
Collaborating with attorneys on various legal matters in the areas of corporate governance, financings, litigation, employment, regulatory, environmental, contracts, real estate, and government affairs;
Performing legal research; and
Performing other tasks and special projects as assigned.
