The VP of Finance will be reporting to the president serving as an integral member of the senior management team. The incumbent will be responsible for the development of the company's financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization's strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the VP will be charged with developing and implementing proper policies and procedures both in the finance and accounting functions.

The base salary for this role starts at $225,000 annually, with competitive total rewards to match the scope and impact of the position.

This is a hybrid position, offering the opportunity to work remotely one day per week while maintaining an on-site presence at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Strategy, Vision, and Leadership:

  • Advise the CEO and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash management, investment priorities, and policy matters.
  • Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  • Contribute to developing strategic and overall management goals, objectives and KPI's.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.

Team Development/Leadership:

  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance, accounting, and treasury teams.
  • Promote a high-performance and continuous improvement culture that values learning, commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.

Financial and Accounting Systems:

  • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
  • Ensure that the organization is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports to the board.
  • Provide analytical support to internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.

Job Experience/Skills: 

  • Proven history of success in facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.
  • Proven history in applying company internal controls and policies according to SOX compliance and audit requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong ability and experience in working with U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience in Accounting and Financial Planning in the manufacturing of durable goods environment.

Education:

  • Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master's in business administration is preferred.
  • CPA and/or CFA preferred.
