About the role
As a Civil Plant Officer at AGL Loy Yang, VIC, you’ll be the key link between operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. You will ensure the performance, reliability, and optimisation of critical infrastructure assets and support the implementation of our Asset System Plans and contribute to the long-term planning of site closure and future use.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities to ensure optimal asset performance and reliability.
Provide technical support and engineering solutions to resolve plant issues and drive continuous improvement.
Manage preventative maintenance routines and contribute to health, safety, and compliance programs.
Oversee project management, budgeting, and accurate reporting using asset management systems like SAP.
Administer a varied portfolio of civil infrastructure assets, including roads, bridges, water systems, and earthworks.
Who are you
We’re open to candidates from two key backgrounds:
Fitter and Turner trade-qualified professionals with strong maintenance experience.
Engineers who have spent significant time in site-based or project engineering roles.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have experience in asset management in mining, power generation, or heavy industry, are confident working across teams to coordinate breakdowns, failures, and follow-up work, and can scope and deliver projects while collaborating with spares and rotable teams.
Qualifications & Skills
Trade or tertiary qualification in mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry OR
Registered Professional Engineer under the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (Victoria) or able to register within 3 months.
Graduate Diploma in Asset Management or risk management qualifications (desirable but not necessary).
Excellent communication, project management, and financial control skills.
Current Victorian driver’s licence.
