Overview:

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Systems Architect in Chantilly, VA. 

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain VMware Horizon, vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments to ensure stability, scalability, and high performance.

  • Manage and optimize hyperconverged infrastructure, particularly Cisco HyperFlex, in support of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) operations.

  • Administer and troubleshoot server environments, including Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) and Linux (CentOS and Ubuntu).

  • Configure, monitor, and optimize Teradici technology and PCoIP protocol for efficient VDI performance.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align system operations with security policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying, recommending, and implementing enhancements to strengthen network and endpoint security measures.

  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to internal stakeholders to ensure effective system usage and adoption.

  • Support audit and compliance activities by maintaining accurate system documentation, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to established standards.

  • Stay current with emerging virtualization, server, and security technologies, proactively applying knowledge to improve system performance and security posture.

Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of current experience in network engineering and a deep understanding of network protocols and technologies
REQUIRED SKILLS
 
  • Demonstrated experience in VMware Horizon, vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience with hyperconverged systems, particularly Cisco HyperFlex, to support the VDI environment.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience with server environments including Windows (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP) and Linux (CentOS and Ubuntu).
  • Demonstrated experience with Teradici technology and PColP protocol optimization.
 
DESIRED SKILLS
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams, Sponsor or otherwise.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging in continuous improvement related to identifying opportunities for enhancing network and endpoint security measures and implement innovative solutions to improve overall security posture
  • Demonstrated experience providing training and support
  • Demonstrated experience participating in audits and compliance reviews, as it relates to systems engineering.
  • Certifications: VCP-DCV, VCAP/VCIX, MCSA/MCSE, or TOGAF
