Your Role
The Accountant under general supervision, performs a variety of accounting duties according to existing procedures, methods, and systems. Reviews internal records; reconciles various accounts; and performs other related duties. The Accountant is involved in retrieving data and comparing it to the G/L, and balancing accounts, e.g. teller suspense, cash balancing and vault cash, safe deposit box receivables, savings bonds, etc.
This is a single incumbent position.
Requirements
- Processes accounts payable including the reimbursement of employees and corporate credit cards.
- Prepares reports for the Controller on the state of the financial institution’s fixed assets and investments along with appropriate general ledger entries.
- Develops new procedures for improved financial records maintenance and compiling reports.
- Reconciliation of various general ledger and internal checking accounting including but not limited to Investments, Fixed Assets, and Financial Center cash.
- Assists in the preparation of various regulatory reports (e.g. Call Report, Summary of Deposits).
- Annual Unclaimed Funds Reporting.
- Assists Controller with account research and audits as necessary.
- Provides general support to other areas of the Accounting Department as necessary.
- Remain compliant with bank guidelines, policies, procedures, regulatory and BSA requirements.

Your Knowledge and Experience
- Two years of college (accounting and finance background) and two years of accounting and/or related experience.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, as well as good analytical, verbal, mathematical and written communication skills.
