      Job Description:
      • 0.6 FTE, part-time | Ongoing position 

      • Based in Ipswich QLD, on the lands of the Yuggera, Jagera & Ugarapul Peoples 

      • From $51.23 per hour + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 

      Make a difference where it matters most 

      The Financial Counselling for Gambling program offers free, confidential support to people experiencing financial hardship due to gambling harm—whether from online platforms or land-based venues. Funded by the Commonwealth, the program helps individuals affected by gambling harm, explore options, and build long-term money management skills. It also connects clients with other services to support their wellbeing and reduce the risk of further harm. 

      Your role, your impact 

      As a Financial Counsellor, you’ll be a trusted advocate for people navigating the challenges of gambling-related financial distress. You’ll provide holistic, trauma-informed support that helps clients understand their options, regain financial control, and build long-term capability. 

      In this role, you will: 

      • Deliver comprehensive financial assessments to understand each client’s unique situation 

      • Provide tailored information, advice, and advocacy to support informed decision-making 

      • Develop case plans that consider cultural, social, and mental health factors 

      • Negotiate with creditors and financial institutions on behalf of clients 

      • Engage with the community to raise awareness and build referral pathways 

      • Collaborate with allied services to ensure wraparound support 

      • Maintain accurate recordsin Each’s client management system and uphold compliance standards 

      • Contribute to service planning and improvement 

      • Engage in supervision, team meetings and professional development

      Who we’re looking for 

      • Diploma of Community Services – Financial Counselling (fully completed) 

      • CHCSS00111 Problem Gambling Skill Set (or equivalent) 

      • Professional membership with Financial Counselling Queensland (FCQ) 

      • Current driver’s license 

      • Experience in financial counselling, ideally in a community or not-for-profit setting 

      • Knowledge of relevant legislation and financial counselling standards 

      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
