The Role⚡
As the Accounts Receivable Team Leader you will oversee a team of accounts receivable specialists and be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of invoices, timely collection of payments, and maintenance of positive relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
Please note: This role requires you to be on site Monday-Fridayin our vibrant Byron Bay HQ located in the industrial estate - please only apply if you reside in the Northern Rivers.
What You'll Do
Lead and mentor the Accounts Receivable team, providing guidance and support to achieve goals.
Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process – invoicing, payments, and fund application.
Handle escalated customer queries, disputes, or payment issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
Generate and analyse reports on ageing, collections, and cash flow to identify trends and improvements.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
Deliver training to team members on processes, systems, and best practice.
Collaborate with finance, operations, tech, and customer service teams to streamline workflows and resolve bottlenecks.
Manage case work across multiple stakeholders, including investigating complaints, collecting payments, and updating job details.
Ensure accurate completion of rebate documentation in Formbay to meet compliance standards.
What You Bring
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✔ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
✔ Ability to manage high-pressure situations and de-escalate effectively.
✔ A proven multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
✔ Prior experience with Xero or similar accounting systems.
✔ Previous experience in collections or accounts receivable.
✔ Familiarity with a SaaS CRM (Salesforce experience highly regarded).
✔ Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.
Quallifications & Experience
Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance/Business; professional accounting qualification desirable
Proven experience managing AR operations including billing, collections, reconciliation
