Reporting to the Sustaining Engineer Lead, you as a Product Engineer will be responsible for executing engineering changes related to product design and development. You will provide support in laboratory testing, ECOs, and PPAP deliverables. You will be the main point of contact with external R&D, customers, and suppliers regarding product specifications. Additionally, you will interface with NPI and design teams to support new product launches.
About the Job:
Initiate and execute engineering changes, analyze impact, and coordinate engineering deliverables from R&D.
Generate, create, and review BOMs, drawings, specifications, 3D models, and 2D sketches.
Prepare cost models for new products.
Lead and guide data analysis to demonstrate viability, quality, and acceptance of new materials, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Analyze and resolve complex engineering problems using investigative techniques and problem-solving processes.
Prepare documentation including test reports, DV & PV test plans.
Maintain updated R&D engineering procedures.
Develop validation methods and test protocols.
Drive VAVE projects and cost reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001, IATF, CELC, and C-TPAT standards.
Have the authority to stop processes that pose imminent risk to health, safety, or product quality.
Approve engineering changes, level 1 deviations, and material changes.
Propose solutions for continuous operation improvement.
Location: Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
Work modality: On-site / Presential.
About You:
University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or related field).
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in engineering changes, BOM management, and cost modeling.
Strong knowledge of interpreting drawings, GD&T, and 3D modeling.
Experience with Core Tools: AMEF, PFMEA, MSA, APQP.
Ability to maintain fluent conversations in English (90% proficiency required).
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex engineering challenges.
Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
