We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Payment squad and help create the best BNPL payment solution in Europe.
About Alma
At Alma, we’re reinventing finance to serve those who matter the most: merchants and consumers. Our instalment and deferred payment solutions help merchants boost sales by up to 20%, increase customer loyalty, and deliver a seamless shopping experience — all without encouraging debt. As the BNPL leader in France and active in 10 European countries, we’ve empowered over 21000 merchants and 8 million consumers. With a team of 340+ Almakers and a €115M Series C funding round, Alma is rapidly scaling across Europe — and this is just the beginning.
Your mission
As Senior Product Manager in the Payment squad, you will own one of Alma's most strategic and complex domains: the core systems that power payment acquisition and loan management. Your mission is to identify opportunities that optimize our payment infrastructure, from introducing new payment methods and flexible installment plans to enhancing post-purchase management and recovery processes.
Working with a squad of 7 engineers and a product designer, you will drive initiatives that improve performance across our entire payment lifecycle. You'll balance diverse business needs with technical, regulatory, and risk constraints while engaging directly with Payment Service Providers (Adyen, Stripe...) & payment players (orchestrators, card schemes, local payment methods...) to evaluate innovations that could enhance Alma's capabilities.
Through deep understanding of consumer preferences, merchant requirements, and industry trends, you'll shape solutions that power millions of transactions across Europe. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to building a European leader in the BNPL industry while defining the future of payment technology.
Main responsibilities
- Define and execute the payment strategy and roadmap, balancing continuous improvement of existing payment systems with the exploration of new opportunities that drive business growth.
- Lead continuous product discovery, leveraging data analysis, merchant & consumers interviews and market research to surface opportunities for improving payment performance.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of complex payment features, working closely with engineering to navigate technical challenges, and executing successful go to market strategies with our product marketing team.
- Engage with our payment service providers, conducting business reviews and evaluating new features and integrations that could drive Alma’s performance.
- Own payment lifecycle metrics and performance, tracking conversion rates, payment success rates, and recovery effectiveness to drive continuous optimisation.
- Diffuse internally a strong understanding of payment industry trends to drive continuous innovation and maintain Alma’s competitive edge.
- Collaborate with other squads to lead transversal payment initiatives to maximise impact
