Within the Digital Frameworks platform, Digital Edge & Cyber Security (DECS) is the lab responsible for ensuring the continued safety and security of the Bank’s digital footprint. We achieve this through core activities in Cyber Security, Edge Computing, Threat and Vulnerability Management, DDoS protection and driving the adoption of security by design in the organisation.We ensure all of LBGs digital channels are onboarded with security protection in place, and continually optimised against evolving cyber threats, while improving our suite of cyber security and performance products.
Job Description
About the role
In this role, as Product Owner you collaborate with Technical Application Specialists to lead the development and execution of security solutions aimed at mitigating DDoS threats, while working closely with Software Engineers to automate and optimise existing tools and processes. You play a pivotal role in communicating, educating, and advocating for these solutions within the Lab, across the Platform, and wider Group, ensuring they align with our goals and drive customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop the product roadmap and backlog, working with customers to prioritise and refine features and improvements.
• Accountable for product governance and business readiness activities (e.g., training, communication, testing and readiness for implementation) for their respective features, changes or tools.
• Collaborate with Engineers to design and automate processes to deliver efficiency and operational scalability.
• Serve as primary point of contact for your product(s) communicating progress, successes and value of DECS services.
• Track and report on product performance metrics, demonstrating the value and success of implemented solutions.
• Commercialise products and generate business value through a full understanding of all commercial aspects of the product, from opportunity, build and ongoing servicing and management costs.
• Keep abreast of emerging cyber threats and industry trends to continuously improve our cyber security protection.
• Provide insights and recommendations to shape and refine the DECS’ strategy.
What you’ll need
Previous experience, not necessarily as a product owner, but ideally within a technology change environment, applying agile methodologies to optimise development and delivery; able to craft a product vision and define work to be done.
In terms of personal qualities, we look for people comfortable with complex and evolving technical systems coupled with a willingness to embrace change, cultivate a growth mindset, and pursue continuous personal growth!
Given the dynamic nature of the cybersecurity landscape, as well as the evolving needs and behaviours of our customers, adaptability, and a dedication to staying up to date are paramount.
As a Product Owner, you’ll need to demonstrate:
• An appreciation of agile principles with practical experience of working in an agile environment.
• A strategic attitude, with the ability to prioritise and lead multiple initiatives based on customer impact and needs.
• Strong communication and customer management skills, including the ability to confidently explain cyber security principles, products and services to customers.
• Strong technical competence to work closely with Engineers to understand the complexity and technical feasibility of solutions.
• Strong dependency management and effective resolution skills.
• A love of problem solving and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues to lead product development in the DECS lab.
