Position Summary
At My IT Crew (MY IT CREW), we don’t just fix things, we make sure our partners are always up and running. As an Onsite Hardware Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and accuracy of the hardware that powers our clients’ businesses. From desktops and laptops to kiosks, switches, and other endpoints, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain it all
while keeping inventory processes sharp and organized.
This full-time onsite role in Brooklyn is ideal for someone who loves hands-on work, thrives in fast-paced environments, and takes pride in keeping systems and stockrooms equally efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose and repair a variety of hardware systems including desktops, laptops, kiosks, and networking equipment.
- Install, upgrade, and replace hardware components.
- Perform testing on operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network configurations to confirm functionality.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Follow established procedures for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping, and tracking hardware assets.
- Maintain accurate inventory logs and participate in regular audits.
- Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, RMA processing, and hardware replacements.
Support & Collaboration
- Provide hardware and basic application support in coordination with the Service Desk.
- Work cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and service teams to ensure timely deployment and recovery of hardware.
- Maintain service records, logs, and repair histories in ConnectWise and asset systems.
Operational Flexibility
- Adapt to shifting priorities based on departmental workload and urgent business needs.
- Maintain workspace and equipment areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
Required Experience & Skills
Hard Skills
- Proven experience with hands-on hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong understanding of PC components, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and networking basics.
- Familiarity with switches, routers, and network protocols (TCP/IP).
- Asset/inventory tracking systems and hardware lifecycle management.
- Experience with shipping/receiving, labeling, and equipment logistics.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA A+ or similar certification.
- Experience supporting kiosks or other specialized endpoint hardware.
- Basic knowledge of server hardware and peripherals.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Hardware issue resolution time (diagnosis to completion)
- Inventory accuracy and audit results
- SLA compliance for shipping/receiving and RMA turnaround
- Number of successfully completed hardware deployments or recoveries
- Internal and end-user satisfaction scores (CSAT)
