The Role
As an Electrical/Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and innovating our control systems within the plastics extrusion plant. You'll work hands-on with Rockwell, Siemens, and other niche control equipment to ensure seamless operations, focusing on temperature control, speed control, and other essential systems. This position demands a self-motivated individual with a passion for problem-solving, a drive to succeed, and the persistence to tackle complex challenges independently. Salary DOE: $95,000 - $110,000.
What You'll Do
- Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems using Rockwell / Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms as well as other instrumentation.
- Optimize temperature control, speed control, pressure monitoring, and other process variables to enhance manufacturing line performance and product quality.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on electrical and control systems, minimizing downtime in a 24/7 production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including production, maintenance, and R&D) to implement automation improvements and integrate new technologies.
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and develop preventive maintenance strategies.
- Stay current with industry advancements through self-directed learning and apply innovative solutions to plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.
