he ideal candidate will Hires, trains and directs the banquet staff in servicing all banquet activities in order to ensure a successful function and repeat business. Monitor staff performance. Defines performance requirements and develops action plans for achievement of goals.

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:Hires, schedules, and trains all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, and illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for American, French, and buffet types of service.Supervises the set up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications. Visually inspects function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up.Verbally communicates, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of the function with the kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staffs, as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards.Supervises clean-up of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.Attends meetings such as menu meeting.Separates, posts, and distributes event order sheets.Assist servers and captains with the execution of events according to the event order and quality standardsOrders supplies and linens for functions from Purchasing and Housekeeping departments.

Internal Relationships
Reports to the Banquet Director

External Relationships
Has regular contact with Club Members, All Potential Clients, Meeting Planners, Production Companies and Vendors.

Qualifications and Education/Experience Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Working knowledge of Food and Beverage and Hotel Operations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 
Must possess computer skills.Hotel or Hospitality Degree at bachelors Level, an unrelated degree with relevant hospitality experience can be considered. 
Minimum 2 years in Banquet / Catering / Convention / or Food and Beverage related operation. Working knowledge of computer systems. 

Physical RequirementsLifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
