Summary:
Responsible for all critical functions across Debt and Equity Capital Markets origination and execution to drive the success of the overall groups. Analysts will work closely across all the Debt and Equity Capital Markets groups, including, Syndicated Finance, High Grade Bonds & Private Placements, Leveraged Finance & High Yield Bonds, Syndicate Sales & Loan Sales & Trading, and Equity Capital Markets. Additionally, Analysts will support junior and senior professionals across the team in preparing, analyzing, and executing banking related transactions across a broad range of industries. These transactions typically focus on larger, more complex structuring agreements. The Analyst role will consist primarily of reviewing and analyzing financial data of both clients and prospects, including market analysis, review of public and private comparable equity, debt, and M&A transactions, as well as substantial independent research. Analysts are also responsible for working with the Debt and Equity Capital Markets teams and Relationship Management teams to distill this information into presentation materials for clients and prospects, including marketing pitches, term sheets, formal offering memoranda, and financial models. Analysts are involved in all stages of a transaction from start to finish.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, and transaction structuring scenarios to help clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
- Assisting with preparing client pitch books, transaction comparable(s), financial models, offering memorandums, lender presentations, and syndication opinions, all while interacting with prospective investors, and facilitating deal execution from start to close.
- Complete deal closing checklists and ensure all components of the closing are accurately reported.
- Participate in meetings with current and prospective clients.
- Create and maintain accurate quarterly reports for management.
- Utilize proficiency in credit fundamentals and can determine the appropriate risks on new and prospective clients and transactions so that all relationships are entirely in strategic alignment with Huntington's risk profile and external financial markets.
- Maintain current knowledge of risk-related changes that may impact assigned areas of responsibility.
- Adhere to bank policies and procedures and complies with legal and regulatory requirements to ensure quality assurance.
- Assisting business development efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 0-1+ years’ direct experience in investment banking or corporate finance
- FINRA Series 79, 63 or other necessary combination, or to be obtained within 6 months of hire date
