Job Summary
The Senior Costing Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the cost structure of outsourced manufacturing operations. This position oversees the financial and operational aspects of third-party manufacturing relationships, ensuring compliance with quality standards, cost efficiency, and strategic alignment with business goals. The role requires strong leadership, analytical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to drive value across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Analysis
- Lead costing activities for contract manufacturing operations, including cost modeling, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Respond to cost and feasibility requests and obtain vendor quotations to support strategic decision-making.
Contract Manufacturing Oversight
- Manage relationships with third-party manufacturers, addressing technical issues, schedule conflicts, and quality concerns.
- Ensure all products are manufactured in compliance with GMP and internal quality standards.
Vendor Evaluation & Selection
- Identify and assess potential new contractors, including financial stability and operational capability.
- Lead vendor selection processes and performance evaluations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of contractor manuals and related documentation.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met across all contract manufacturing activities.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance, training, and performance management for direct reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in costing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of GMP, cost accounting principles, and vendor management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
