Responsibilities of an Infection Prevention Control Officer:
- Be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center.
- Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests. You will manage and administer the centers COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates, as well as ensure staff are educated in proper use of PPD.
- Serve as the center's knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities
Qualifications for an Infection Prevention Control Officer:
- Active LPN Licensure in the state of practice.
- Two (2) or more years' experience as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare professional with knowledge of infection prevention and control, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
- CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.
