Job Summary
Under direct supervision, uses basic level knowledge and skills obtained through experience and/or training to provide support in specific trading activities within Fixed Income Capital Markets. Follows established procedures to perform routine tasks and receives guidance and direction to perform other work with more variety and complexity requiring limited decision-making responsibility. Serves as a resource to traders and less experienced associates in resolving questions and problems. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information. Day to day operations include supporting Raymond James sales and trading staff for municipal, taxable, and syndicate desks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform timely and accurate recording and settlement of trades; resolve any trade discrepancies
• Escalates new or unusual issues to a higher level
• Ensure all trades are confirmed on trade date
• Collaborates with the rest of the corporates and sovereigns trading team on risk reports, positions, and other daily tasks
• Master firms’ technology systems
• Complete daily operational reporting & controls; identify risk trends
• Respond to all queries within current business day
• Pro-actively identify and progress opportunities to enhance straight-through processing and improve efficiency in operations
• Provide support to other middle office groups on all trade related queries
• Receives and communicates orders to appropriate trading personnel.
• Identifies and notifies traders of events that effect orders
• Provides high level support to facilitate the price adjustment and trade correction process.
• Assists in researching trade problems and suggests appropriate corrective action.
• Contacts internal and external customers to resolve trading problems.
• Updates and maintains trade data and information in required databases.
• Accepts, screens and routes telephone calls and maintains record of inquiries, as required.
• Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
• Industry regulations related to trading activities.
• Concepts, practices and procedures of securities trading.
• Basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Mathematical procedures required to verify and reconcile trading transactions.
Skill in
• Identifying financial events that effect orders
• Reconciling and correcting transactions.
• Updating and maintaining information systems.
• Handling a high volume phone system.
• Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, sufficient to create documents, spreadsheets, and business correspondence.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, energetic, and intellectually curious individual who is able to deliver with minimal supervision, whilst also working effectively as part of a team

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the financial services industry.

• Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications
• None required to being hired but will be expected in the first year.
