As a Community Meals Catering Assistant you will make a difference by assistant and preparing nutritious meals to be delivered to some of the elderly and vulnerable members of the community who may not be able to cook for themselves.
What you will be doing:- Daily, you will be working with the catering team in the kitchen to ensure the food service is on time, serviced and packed for the drivers to collect and distribute in the community.
- Working at Badminton Road, you will be assisting the cook with the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and tea time meals.
- Due to the nature of this position, you will be actively partaking in cleaning duties and complete cleaning schedules.
- You will have the opportunity to learn new skills to support development.
- Ideally, you will have experience of working in a food preparation environment.
- You will have the ability to work efficiently and at a sustained pace.
- Demonstrate, you can follow instructions, for example accurately following a meal picking list for the delivery of rounds.
- You will be working independently as part of a team/crew.
- It is key you are able to demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the work.
- Your salary is pro-rata to hours worked.
- Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays.
- You will be based at the Council Offices, Badminton Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5AF.
- Allowance: Sunday enhancement (time & half).
- Your uniform will be provided.
- We will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required.
