POSITION:                Anticipated Director of Careers and Technology

 

 

BUILDING:                Carlisle High School

 

 

Qualifications/Certification:

 

  1. Director of Vocational Education Certification for the Commonwealth of
  2. Five (5) years administrative experience in the field of Career and Technical Education.
  3. Master's Degree required, Doctorate preferred

 

Reports To/Supervised By: Director of Educational Programming Coordination Responsibilities:

  1. Carlisle Council on Career and Technical Education (formerly the Local Advisory Council)
  2. Perkins Stakeholder Committee

 

Duties/Related Responsibilities:

 

  1. Formulate and administer a comprehensive, modern program of academic, career and technical education.
  2. Maintain close working relationships with community and state agencies, local secondary and post-secondary education institutions, and area businesses, industries, and labor organizations, in order to provide education consistent with needs, and establish advisory committees as needed.
  3. Continuously appraise and evaluate the total academic and career and technical programs to achieve the established goals of providing the opportunity for people to prepare for gainful employment and post-secondary education.
  4. Possess current knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations affecting career and technical education.
  5. Advise and assist in obtaining state and federal funds for career and technical education and related programs.
  6. Assume responsibility for the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports relative to career and technical education and special programs to state and federal agencies.
  7. Direct the supervision and evaluation of all instructional personnel in academic and career and technical education programs.
  8. Direct the supervision and evaluation of all support and technology personnel
  9. Supervise and evaluate assigned administrative staff.
  1. Work to identify and define local job/career opportunities and the role of the school in meeting these opportunities.
  2. Provide for in-service, professional development, and education for the
  3. Interpret the career and technical education programs to the public.
  4. Prepare and administer the budget.
  5. Make recommendations for long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in career and technical education programs to meet changing job trends and needs.
  6. Assist in the recruitment and screening of career and technical teachers, and support staff.
  7. Maintain membership in and participate in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of career and technical education.
  8. Conduct regular professional advisory committee meetings.
  9. Make recommendations for the implementation of the school’s technology
  10. Develop and carry out all administrative policies approved by the School Board.
