We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented production line painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all items are painted in a timely and accurate manner. The position is on 2nd Shift working Mon - Fri 3:00PM to 11:30PM with a 30-minute break for lunch at 8:00PM. Overtime is available periodically. The individual will be required to train on 1st shift for an extended period. 1st shift times are 7:00AM to 3:30PM with a 30-minute break at 12:00PM. The transition to second shift will be accompanied by a ~10% raise.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Following the provided schedule
- Hanging product on the paint line
- Clean and prepare parts before paint process
- Inspect and verify incoming parts for defects and damages
- Execute paint process according to company standards
- Maintain a clean and organized area
- Assist with consumable inventory management as needed
- Operates forklifts while loading and unloading parts from the paint line
- Perform other related job activities as required
- Assist with paint line maintenance
- Crosstrain to provide inter-departmental support as required
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Report to Paint Lead and Production Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance to new hires and colleagues as potential opportunities arise.
Requirements
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- 1+ years of experience in painting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, respirator, gloves etc.)
- Willingness to maintain clean shaven face for proper respiratory fit
- Experience in using power and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Ability to perform essential shop math consisting of fractions, decimals, basic algebra, and geometry
- Ability to creatively consider processes and recommend improvements to bolster efficiency
- Ability to work within the confines of a standard employee handbook regarding attendance, discipline, off-work conduct
