Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position involves delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring that students stay on task with the curriculum. Substitute teachers must adapt quickly to different classroom settings, establish rapport with students, and follow the instructional plans left by the regular teacher. They are responsible for fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere, supporting student learning, and ensuring the smooth operation of the class until the regular teacher returns.
Requirements / Qualifications
MUST POSSESS OR ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A 30-DAY SUBSTITUTE PERMIT OR CA TEACHING CREDENTIAL.
Minimum Qualifications:
-90 Semester Units towards a Bachelor’s degree (any major) from an accredited college/institution and current enrollment in a BA/BS program at a 4-year college/institution.
Below you will find our NEW Certificated Substitute Teacher pay rates effective December 11, 2024:
Daily: $225.00
Wednesdays (Short day): $200.00
35 full days + in one school year: $240.00
Retiree Daily Rate: $240.00
19 days + , same assignment: $250.00*
75 days +, same assignment: BTA Salary Schedule, ATC2**
* Retroactive once 19 days have been reached
