- Unit description: Work in both the Main ED and ED Behavioral Health. Our ED is about 58 beds, services patients from 15 counties and on average we see about 190-240 patients a day. ED - BH is an 18 bed secured unit designed for individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, requiring immediate and intensive intervention.
Novant Health is seeking a Safety Attendant to provide one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; and report needs and concerns to licensed nurse.

Qualifications:- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.
- Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.
- Additional Skills Required:
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines.
- Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
