Summary of Primary Functions:
The Accounting Manager is a key financial professional responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, assisting with the implementation of accounting policies, supporting the annual audit, and providing technical accounting support to the staff. This position will take the lead role in managing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.; coordinate with various departments to ensure all information is received and accounted for accurately.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned essential duty satisfactorily. (Below are examples, not all duties will be assigned to you, but other duties may be assigned).
- Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee multiple areas of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Foster growth within the accounting team, ensuring alignment across functions and driving operational excellence.
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to design and implement initiatives that improve financial workflows and operational performance.
- Evaluate and enhance current accounting practices by applying industry benchmarks and strategic insights.
- Provide technical accounting support, through research as necessary, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop and document account processes and internal controls.
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the ASC 842 lease accounting and related schedules.
- Perform financial consolidations.
- Lead the annual financial audit process and coordinate audit deliverables.
- Champion opportunities for operational enhancements, internal control upgrades, and the dissemination of best practices across functions.
- Contribute to special projects and analytical tasks.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and financial reporting tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, CPA/CMA/CGMA required
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in both public and private settings
- At least 3 years supervisory experience
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with ERP system conversion is a plus
- Must be willing to work overtime including nights and weekends upon request

- Ability to multi-task and critically review work completed by other team members
- Solid understanding of advanced accounting principles, financial management tools and concepts
- Strong communication and presentation skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to interact with of all levels of the organization in a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction
- Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques
- Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations
- Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy
Work Environment:
This is a 100% in-office position. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
