Job Summary
This highly visible position is responsible for the overall onsite event experience of the hotel’s group contacts. The Red Coat acts as a liaison between the client and the hotel staff during their events. Red Coats work closely with Event Managers, Banquet Staff, and other hotel departments to ensure a positive guest experience and overall excellent event. Red Coats are problem solvers who want to serve others.
Job Duties & Functions
1. Responsible for building client relationships and offering incredible customer service.
2. Responsible for creating directional signage and daily recap reports.
3. Create memorable experiences through personal connections and delighters for guests and group contacts.
4. Answer event services phone via both calls and texts as well as manage responses to guest requests through Marriott Event Service Application online.
5. Act as onsite hotel contact for all group clients responding professionally and quickly to all requests.
6. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of all rooms sets daily and working closely with Banquet Team to make adjustments as needed or requested by client.
7. Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures for all groups and outside vendors.
8. Other projects and duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications
1. Dynamic personality with an inherent need to be of service to others.
2. One or more years of previous customer service experience, preferably hotel experience.
3. Excellent communication skills, verbally, written, and via text.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple requests at once.
5. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
6. Ability to work within a team effectively as well as work without direct supervision.
7. Willingness to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays as required and to maintain a flexible schedule.
